PoE Extender:

A PoE Extender (Power over Ethernet extender) is a device that extends both data and power over Ethernet cables beyond the standard limit, which is usually about 100 meters (328 feet) for Ethernet connections.

Normally, Ethernet cables can only carry network signals (and power, if it’s PoE) up to that 100m limit. If you need to go farther like connecting a security camera at a distant corner of a building or a Wi-Fi access point across a large area, you can use a PoE extender. It acts a bit like a relay station:

• It receives the PoE signal (both power and data).

• Boosts it.

• And sends it farther down another Ethernet cable.

Some PoE extenders even allow you to daisy-chain multiple extenders to cover very long distances. This product is a network switch accessory that designed by different companies and sold in network equipment.

How to install PoE Extender on the wall?

1. Mark the wall and nail it up
2. Hang the hole in the middle of the Extender on the nail
3. Fix the two sides with nails
